Venue Location & Arrival Notes

This year’s show will take place at Lone Tree Performing Arts Center on Saturday, June 15th

·       Dancer call time is 30 mins prior to the show starting. We will not take students backstage any earlier!

·       All performers should arrive ready to perform with hair and make-up done. Dancers should be dressed in their first routine’s costume but wearing their “normal” shoes.

·       Dancer drop off will be located in the theater lobby. (No tap shoes allowed in lobby!)

·       Company dancers will utilize the downstairs dressing rooms. Parents are NOT allowed to come downstairs to help them set up their items. Make sure your dancer is prepped ahead of time on how to set up their items.

·       Dancer pick up will be in the theater lobby. Look for signs indicating your dancer’s age and class and please be patient!

·       Company dancers will be released directly into the theater lobby – please be patient as they have a lot to carry and there is only one elevator!

·       Non-company, recreational dancers will only be allowed to bring one bag with them to the recital which will be provided to them. If their items don’t fit into the bag, then please don’t bring them! We will have plenty of activities, movies, and games to keep kids occupied back stage! Everything you bring must be labeled with your dancer’s name. Lost items are not the responsibility of MHDC.

·       A professional will be recording the show. All digital files will be emailed in early July with downloadable links.

Hair & Make Up

Hair Styles:

All dancers who are in combo style classes (ages 8 and under!) can choose any hair style they would like as long as you pull the hair away from the face! Feel free to use the provided bow if you would like! Any dancers who are in level one classes and higher, we ask that you bring your dancer in a low pony tail with a center part. Here is a video tutorial in case you need help! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ez1cXfJUPCo

Company dancers should have their hair in a center part, low pony. Hair should be straight.

Ballet Classes should have a center part, low bun. Dancers in other pieces can twist their pony tail into a quick bun for the routine (:

Make Up:

Make up not required for your dancer but definitely recommended! We suggest a light layer of powder or foundation, a rosy blush, a neutral eye shadow, mascara and a light pink lip! We want them to feel beautiful for their special day!

FAQs

  1. Do I need to buy a ticket for my dancer? No! Your dancers do NOT need a ticket, only audience members who need a seat!

  2. My dancer is in a hip hop class, what shoes should they wear? Any tennis shoes that they can dance and move in are perfect! Don’t worry if colors don’t coordinate perfectly (:

  3. What color tights should my dancer be wearing? ALL dancers will be wearing tights for ALL of their performances! We provided each combo dancer with a pair of Light Suntan tights (Company Team Members already have theirs!). If for some reason you do not have your tights, let us know, we have lots of extras at the studio just in case! Ballet Level 2, 3 and 4 students should wear pink tights with their black leotard.
